BRASIL: New Manaus Gas Pipeline Creates Fears Of More Amazon Destruction.

GUARDIAN/    Environmentalists fear that a new gas pipeline being built to the rapidly developing Amazon city of Manaus will drive further jungle development, spill risks and illegal loggers. Manaus will finally be connected to Brasil's national grid next year.  Meanwhile, the Urucu pipeline was completed last November, but next month the first of four turbines starts sending out gas supplies.
