ARGENTINA: BA's Garbage Is Running Out Of Room.

LAHT/    Buenos Aires' garbage dumps could collapse in two years from the increasing amount of waste that the city churns out. Buenos Aires generated 1.4 million tons in 2005 that jumped to 1.8 million tons in 2009, an increase of 28.5%. The municipal and provincial governments agreed in 2008 on two new dumps to substitute for the current landfills but the planning has not been finished and local residents stronly oppose the projects.
