GUATAMALA: Deep, Mysterious Sinkhole Intrigues Geologists.

AP/ MIAMI HERALD/     A foreboding sinkhole in a quiet Guatemala City neighborhood that appears to descend into the netherworld is in reality 66 feet across and nearly 100 feet deep. It scares neighbors but is exciting geologists. The almost perfectly round sinkhole swallowed an entire intersection during a tropical storm Agatha. It ate a clothing factory about three miles (two kilometers) from the site of a similar sinkhole three years ago but no factory workers died.
