VENEZUELA: Ex-General Claims Army Infiltration By Cubans.
AP/ MIAMI HERALD/ Former Army Brig. Gen. Antonio Rivero once headed the government's emergency management agency but retired recently because of "the presence and meddling of Cuban soldiers" in the armed forces. He claims Cubans train troops, including snipers and are active in intelligence, weapons, communications. Rivero also disliked the "politicization" of the military, including the slogan soldiers now repeat when saluting: "Socialist homeland or death!"
