PARAGUAY: Politician Survives Ambush Near Brasil's Border.
AP/MIAMI HERALD/ Senator Roberto Acevedo is recovering from an ambush near Paraguay's remote border with Brasil. He was shot twice in the arm when gunmen attacked his SUV in Pedro Juan Caballero, killing his driver and bodyguard. He believes drug traffickers put a $300,000 price on his head. "I was saved by a miracle," he recounted. "Sooner or later they will come to get me. Pedro Juan is becoming something similar to the Mexican city of Juarez."
