Update 21/1: Local authorities closed the Media Luna hostel because they say it did not have the necessary permits to operate and lacked the required security measures. The Cartagena police reported that three suspects had been arrested following the robbery and that the hostel staff was suspected for complicity in the crime.
Armed men had robbed 21 tourists sleeping inside a Cartagena hostel at 4AM. "Hooded men, around seven of them, arrived armed with guns and knives. The tied us down and took cameras, cell phones, passports, clothes, money, anything of value they could find," said a tourist from Argentina.
