MEXICO / USA : American Woman Marries Mexican...On Raft...In Middle Of River Border.

     This is a bizarre...but touching story.
     To capitalize on an obscure 1848 USA treaty with Mexico...an American woman married her Mexican national partner...on a raft...in the middle of the Rio Grande River...the border between Mexico and the USA.
    The young couple already have 4 children living in Texas...but because the father was caught in the USA without papers...he was deported and not allowed to return.
   The damp ceremony...conducted in the USA's part of the river...technically makes the marriage legal.
   With a sanctioned marriage...the family can finally reunite.
