Playing football on the beach...is a way of life for many youths.
The game is sacred in Brasil...and for a lucky few...can even be a meal ticket out of a impoverished life.
But...on Rio's most famous beach...Ipanema...for the second day...police have forbidden locals from playing the 'beautiful game' from 8 am - 5 pm...angering many youths.
Security forces...trying to enforce the rule were bombarded with coconuts...and some violators were detained.
Just re-elected Rio Mayor Eduardo Paes has banned many long popular beach pastimes...to prepare the city for the 2014 World Cup
