      At least 17 died...and 12 were injured early Friday...when a bus plunged 700 meters off a rural road...called 'the highway of death'...in southwest El Oro province.

    AND: President Rafael Correa claims his family will decide his re-election run in February 2013.
     The popular Correa, 49...is currently embroiled in WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's London asylum controversy.
     The aggressive leftist has spent heavily on roads, hospitals and schools...thanks to high oil prices.
    But Correa says he regrets sacrifices his Belgian wife and 3 kids have made since 2007... suffering lack of privacy amid high security.
