A likely 2014 candidate for Uruguayan president, ex-President Tabare Vasquez claims that he is quitting politics after a revelation that he considered warring with Argentina over a disputed border pulp mill.
Vasquez was president from 2005 to 2010.
Vasquez also admitted asking President George W. Bush for support in a possible war.
Politician from both countries have criticized his revelations.
