In Sofia, some 2,000 marched in an anti-Roma protest.
The demonstrators claim the nation's ethnic Roma are corrupt and linked to organised crime.
"We are marching against all parasite communities, against the mafia," said a protester.
A presidential election is scheduled for 23 October.
