VENEZUELA : Hugo Claims "Cancer Isn't Death"; Admits Baseball* Size Tumor Was Removed And Chemo May Be Needed.

                                            BLOOMBERG
President Hugo Chavez, 56, admits he may need to undergo chemotherapy or radiation after last month's surgery in Cuba for a still undisclosed cancer.
“My colon and stomach aren’t destroyed like the opposition is saying. Today cancer isn’t death.”
The former baseball pitcher added that his tumor was big. "My god, it's almost as big as a baseball*," he said about the removal of a pelvic abscess on 11 June.
Venezuelan bonds rose for the first time in four days.
(*NB: News sources translated Hugo's word... thus the quote differently; AFP's first report calls the tumor... a "basketball"; the AP, WSJ and BLOOMBERG use the word "baseball".)
