In another embarrassment for President Calderon, a federal judge dropped drug trafficking and money laundering charges against former Cancun mayor Gregorio 'Greg' Sanchez (above).
However, now prosecutors say they will charge him with smuggling of undocumented Cubans.
In the past few years, Cancun has been a hub for smuggling-in Cubans on route to the USA.
Sanchez was arrested more than 14 months ago...while he campaigned as state governor for an opposition party, the PRI.
