Criminology student Marisol Valles, 20, praised for her selfless courage when she recently became the police chief of Praxedis G Guerrero, one of Mexico's most dangerous towns, has reportedly fled to the U.S.
And, now she has officially....been fired.
A relative told AFP that Valles and two relatives were seeking U.S. asylum after receiving death threats.
Her predecessor's head was found days after he was abducted in August 2009 while 15 of the 17 police he commanded were killed.
ALSO: The relatives of murdered prominent human rights activist Josefina Reyes Salazar, who have lost 6 members to violent crime, ended their protest outside government offices to seek asylum in the U.S.or Spain.
