MEXICO: More Death In Cd. Juarez; Violence There Spurs Exodus And Character Change; Crime Tourism Flourishes.

LATIMES/

Mexico's most violent city, Cd. Juarez suffered another deadly 24 hours leaving 18 murdered including 6 waitresses at a beer joint called Las Torres.
U.S.Army Undersecretary Joseph Westphal also apologized this week for calling the narco terrorist groups there a "form of insurgency."
Those statements anger Mexican officials because it suggests that the narcos desire to topple the government. Of course, the narcos already virtually control several border states and small towns... with FEAR!
They are also alarmed that U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano has discussed  possible alliances between narco terrorists and radical Islamic terrorists.

A feature on the changing demographics of Cd. Juarez as violence and recession reshape its character — from loose and busy to tight-knit and cautious — with decades of growth now replaced by exodus.
“People don’t have faith in government,” said an observer after federal police shot and killed two unarmed residents in a botched raid. “They have faith in their neighbors.”

PLUS:  With more than 34,000 people dead in Mexico, “black” or “morbid” tourism has begun to flourish.
“The opening for this type of tourism was the spread of ‘narco-culture.’ Drug traffickers became the stereotypes of great wealth,” claims an security specialist.
“Some people even ask for photos of bullet impacts and even signs of fights between the cartels. These are very peculiar visitors, who like big thrills and come from Europe and, especially, the United States,” he says.
