The Sao Paulo Corinthian's Ronaldo (Luiz Nazario da Lima), 34, the 3-time FIFA world player of the year is retiring from soccer/football after an 18-year career.
He cited injury and a lack of fitness for his decision to end his contract.
Ronaldo also revealed he suffers from hypothyroidism -- an illness which affects the body's metabolism --and may be the reason for his difficulty fighting recent weight gains.
