REUTERS/ The Hugo Chavez Quotes Round-up:
In his weekly column, President Hugo Chavez says he wants to meet with new Colombian President Santos but warned any claims that Venezuela shelters Colombian "terrorists" would kill all reconciliation efforts.
"Let's be clear. If Venezuela is respected, there will be progress. If there's lack of respect to Venezuela, nothing new or good will be possible," Chavez wrote. On his weekly TV show, Chavez said: "The guerrillas should come out in favor of peace. They should release all their hostages. They have no future by staying armed."
Finally, at a rally, Chávez proclaimed he welcomed the "ex-president's," Alvaro Uribe's, exit from office and blamed him entirely for the two nation's political and economic rupture by saying...Uribe could... “Go to hell!”
