MEXICO: Notorious Drug Kingpin "La Barbie" Captured.
LATIMES/ In a major coup for President Calderon's long and ever bloodier battle against the narco terrorists, Edgar Valdez Villarreal, was captured near Mexico City. Valdez, aka “La Barbie" supposedly because of his looks, was born in Texas yet moved-up the drug thug chain of command, eventually fighting for control of the Beltrán Leyva. Valdez was once allied with Mexico’s most wanted man, Joaquin Guzmán Loera, known as “El Chapo,” or Shorty. Both governments had offered $2 million dollar rewards for his capture. Valdez's arrest may actually increase the violence as others now fight to control Beltran Leyva operations.
