COLOMBIA: Peso Hits 2-Year High Vs $USD.

C.REPORTS/ Adriaan Alsema/    Colombia's peso is booming because of commodities, a surge that could hurt manufacturing and other exports. Its appreciation is being driven by foreign direct investments in oil and mining, not local stocks or bonds. The peso closed Wednesday at COP 1,825. vs USD, the highest level in two years. In twelve months, the peso has gained 10.25% and ranks as one of the best performing currencies in Latin America.
