BRASIL/PERU: Brit Finishes 6,000 Mile Amazon River Trek After 859 Days.

TELEGRAPH/  An Afghan War vet, Brit. Ed Stafford, 34, arrives in Belem on Brasil's Atlantic coast after an 859 day trek along the Amazon River. His journey began on Peru's Pacific coast in April 2008. He is the first person to successfully complete an Amazon River walk-about. “Ed Stafford's achievement in walking from the Pacific, over the Andes and along the entire length of the Amazon to the Atlantic is truly extraordinary,”said British adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
