ECUADOR: Natives Declare Victory In Water Privatization Battle.
LAHT/ Major indigenous organizations have claimed victory after the Legislative Assembly failed to pass a controversial bill that some believed opened the door to water privatization. The proposed water law will be deferred for five months until there is a referendum in indigenous communities. Protesters have clashed with police in Quito with dozens injured and arrested.
