CHILE: Looters Surrender Spoils To Avoid Arrest.
REUTERS/ Looters took advantage of a short amnesty to dump stolen goods after the arrest of 20 suspects. Police had warned that they would go door-to-door armed with riot shields and tear gas to seek-out suspected looters. Police were seen loading-up up sofas, stoves, and even crates of liquor into pickup trucks and a bus reportedly to return them. Authorities said they had recovered dozens of truckloads of goods worth around $2 million.
