ROMANIA: Unions Warn "Fat Tax" May Cost Jobs.
AP/GOOGLE NEWS/ Romania enacts Europe's first fast-food tax on March 1st because half of its 22 million people are overweight. Others criticize exemptions for pizzas, kebabs and other high-fat dishes, calling it a "McFat tax" instead — that targets only Western fast food outlets — and will not help the public lose weight.
