Fidel Castro is beginning his 52nd year in power by renewing his influence and causing tension by undermining his brother Raul's legitimacy. Especially telling was April 21 when Fidel castigated and humiliated his brother at a meeting in Venezuela when -- seemingly in an inebriated state -- Raúl expressed willingness to discuss almost everything with the Obama administration.
