Luis Yanez, a Socialist member of the Spanish parliament and the president for EU delegations dealing with Mercosur was refused entry on a tourist visa to Havana Monday morning and returned to Spain on the first available flight. No explanation was provided for his expulsion. Yanez was known for his contacts with Cuban dissidents.
