Saturday's arrest of banker Arné Chacón and the removal of his brother as science minister may be the start of a purge of magnates known as Boligarchs, who amassed fortunes from government ties. Several other bankers, including supermarket billionaire Ricardo Fernández Barrueco, have been detained. The seized banks account for less than 20% of the banking system.
