Manuel Zelaya faces arrest if he leaves the Brasilian embassy after Congress denied his return to power by an overwhelming vote, ignoring international pressure. Another option, to negotiate a deal with President-elect Porfirio Lobo, seems doubtful because Lobo is in no hurry to deal with Zelaya's tricky future. "He doesn't want to start something that isn't a product of a national consensus, to avoid provoking further polarization," said Vice President-elect Maria Antonieta de Bogran. Aides say Zelaya won't leave Honduras until his term runs out on January 27.
