As many as 10,000 Czechs reenacted a mass demonstration 20 years ago in the streets of Prague that led to the end of communist rule in Czechoslovakia a week after the Berlin Wall fell. “I said to myself the wall’s fall was going to also influence the situation in Czechoslovakia and that Europe will be reunited,” said Pavel Zacek, one of the student organizers of the demonstrations. “I didn’t believe we could crash the communist regime so fast. I had the idea it would take some time. It was the right moment and we started something.”
