"As Poland emerges as one of the economic stars of 2009, I’m wondering if it isn’t time to define the “Polish economic model”, the way people talk about the French or German model. Or at least throw open a debate about it, especially since the 20th anniversary of Leszek Balcerowicz’s 1990 reforms is right around the corner.
From some preliminary talks with analysts and economists, the name I’d like to suggest is the “Drift Model”, which includes everything which followed Poland’s unique shock therapy program."
