Austin Was Hub For La Familia Drug Gang.

Austin, Texas served as a national shipping hub for the violent Mexican crime gang La Familia. Federal and state authorities detailed the largest crackdown so far against a Mexican drug cartel. The crackdown code-named Project Coronado, took nearly four years and resulted in more than 1,186 arrests in 35 cities in 19 states.
