150,000 Protest Mexican Power Company Shutdown.

150,000 union members, university students and leftists protested the Mexican government’s decision to shut down Luz y Fuera del Centro, a state-run electricity company. The demonstrators marched down Reforma avenue Thursday to the Zocalo.
The march was monitored by more than 2,000 police officers and two helicopters and the first street protest carried out by the SME against the closure of Luz y Fuerza and the dismissal of its 44,000 workers.
