Alejandro Gutierrez of Colombia started a Facebook group 11 days ago calling for an international march against Hugo Chavez meddling with his country. More than 377,000 have since joined the Facebook protest.
Inspired by such success, thousands turned out for anti-Chavez marches Friday in 30 Colombian cities and abroad, from Buenos Aires to Toronto to Sydney.
Within days, a counter-demonstration sprung up on Facebook: The Global March Against Uribe, that planned marches in at least 15 Colombian cities as well as Berlin and Toronto.
