U.S. Military Will Avoid Colombia's Border Regions.

U.S. Ambassador William Brownfield says the U.S. military will not approach Colombia's borders with Venezuela and Ecuador while fighting the production and trafficing of illicit drugs.

Both countries reject a new pact that allows the Americans to use Colombian military bases for counter narcotics operations.
