BOLIVIA : 17 June UPDATE: 1,600 Security Sent to Colquiri Mine After 18 Injured In Clash; Protesters Take Over Canadian Malku Khota Silver Mine In Potosi.

      The government sent in 1,600 security forces to the Colquiri tin/zinc mine south of La Paz...owned by Glencore...after 2 miner groups clashed...injuring at least 18.
      For 2 weeks...independent mining co-ops have been demanding new areas to mine.


    AND : Farmers and miners have taken over the Canadian-run Malku Khota silver mine in Potosi province.
