After weeks of uncertainties and bloody drubbings on Lima's stock exchange...president-elect Ollanta Humala stepped-up efforts to erase investors' concerns that he would emulate socialist and one time hero Hugo Chavez.
Humala has named Miguel Castilla as Finance Minister...and Carlos Herrera as Mining Minister.
Castilla, 42, worked as chief economist at CAF...and according to one expert has “a perfect understanding of finance and micro-economic needs” while future mining minister Herrera “will give comfort to Peru’s key sector, which is the backbone of the economy.”
