BELARUS: Scores Arrested In Minsk During Independence Day Parade.

ALJAZEERA

Police arrested at least 50 people for clapping inappropriately during an Independence Day military parade in Minsk...celebrating the end of Nazi occupation in 1944.

President Alexander Lukashenko told the crowd gathered that recent protests are an attempt to foment revolution and bring Belarus "to its knees" but this was "not going to happen".
An opposition group's page on a Russian social media site has also been blocked.
