AP/Garcia Mayor Jaime Rodriguez Calderon (pictured) has survived two assassination attempts...in just 18 months in office.
Now he has his own "corrido"-- a folk song glorifying his exploits.
The song is called "El Bronco"/"The Unbroken One."
"I'm not one of these politicians who hides what they think. I'm facing things that require you to have a strong character," said Rodriguez Calderon.
"I began to impose order on the city...and that got this gang angry and they reacted," he added.
Garcia is a prosperous suburb of Monterrey.
