FRANCE/ MEXICO: "Fake" Mayan Statue Dispute...Adds To DiplomaticTensions.

GUARDIAN/

"Seated Divinity" (pictured) a Mayan-style statue recently sold in Paris for a record €2.9m/ $4.13 million usd.
The 5-foot warrior with axe and shield was described as possibly 1,400 years old.
But it was an artful fake said Mexican experts.
   Nonsense countered French experts.
All this come less than two months into France's Year of Mexico...and a few months after Mexico ended tense negotiations over the release of Florence Cassez, 36, a French woman jailed for 60 years for kidnapping, angering French President Sarkozy.
Mexican authorities are also opposed to the sale of its antiquities...and demand their return.
