John Abraham Godson, born and raised in Nigeria, has been sworn in as the first black member of Poland's parliament.
Godson arrived in Poland 17 years ago, opened an English-language school and served as a pastor in a Protestant church. He was a Lodz councilman before replacing a parliamentary seat vacated by a party colleague after an election.
He is married to a Polish woman and they have four children.
