POLAND: Birder Wins Goldman Prize For Halting Mammoth Highway.
AP/ Malgorzata Gorska, 35, a leader of the Polish Society for the Protection of Birds has won a Goldman Environmental Prize for halting a major highway designed to cut through the Rospuda Valley, a pristine peat bog and virgin pine forest. Gorska is one of six winners awarded the annual $150,000 USD Goldman prize.
