MEXICO: Narco Violence Spreads To Quiet Morelos State.
LATIMES/ This once quiet province is known mainly for its many Spanish language schools in Cuernavaca. But since narco gang leader Arturo Beltran Leyva was slain there in December, hell has broken out. Loyalists of Beltran Leyva's brother, Hector, are fighting for control with a former top enforcer, Edgar Valdez Villarreal, AKA, "Barbie," a blue-eyed brutal thug. Nearly 50 people have been killed there this year. Last weekend an anonymous e-mail warned people to stay away from nightspots or risk being shot. State Governor Marco Adame responded that "the street, our plazas and the night do not belong to the violent, to the criminals. They belong to respectable people."
