CHILE: Quake Costs Escalating.
AP/ MIAMI HERALD/ The latest earthquake damage estimates now total $30 billion with about 500,000 homes destroyed and damage to bridges, roads, ports, public transportation, the forestry industry and wineries. On the coast, entire towns have been destroyed or “totally disappeared" said one aid organization, threatening the nation's important fishery industry that supplies 4 percent of the world's seafood about 2 million metric tons.
