BRASIL/CUBA: Fidel Defends Lula Over Dead Dissident.
LAHT/ Aged Cuban strongman Fidel Castro defended Brasil's President Lula da Silva against critics who accused Lula of ignoring the recent death of dissident Zapata Tamayo. Castro wrote in the state newspaper Granma that “Some who envy his prestige and his glory, and even worse, those who are at the service of the (U.S.) empire, criticize him for visiting Cuba. To do so they use the vile slander that has been used against Cuba for half a century."
