For the first time...an opposition activist has been placed under house arrest pending an investigation.
Prominent opposition leader Sergei Udaltsov was detained for organizing 'mass disorder' in May 2012...jailed in October...but later released.
Now...Udaltsov, 35...is under house arrest until 06 April...and faces 4-10 years in prison if convicted.
He is banned from using the internet, telephone and mail.
