The UK's Guardian updates the re-election campaign of incumbent President Rafael Correa...ahead of Sunday's 17 Feb election.
Correa has attempted to refashion his image...from selling-out Ecuador's oil to China...to environmentally sensitive.
Many of his opponents and critics...are former supporters.
His crackdown on media...and stacking of the judiciary upsets them.
But Correa is popular...currently polling at between 50% to 62% support.
The opposition is fractured...with 7 candidates.
His closest challenger registered just 11.6% in polls.
