3 members of parliament have been arrested following violent protests Wednesday in Bishkek.
About 1,000 gathered and some tried to storm the parliament building...demanding the nationalization of the Kumtor gold mine...a major Canadian-owned mine...but were pushed back by 2,000 police.
About a dozen demonstrators were injured in the melee...with 3 treated for gunshots.
The protesters claim there have been over a dozen toxic cyanide spills from Centerra's mine...that have polluted rivers...and the company has used accounting tricks to escape taxes.
