Some Texas bureaucrats...are not swayed by safety concerns.
To get a one time $100 million payday...the state road commission had to raise a new local toll road's top speed limit...to 85 MPH.
It turned out to be...no problem!
Soon...a 41 mile segment of SH 130...between Austin and San Antonio...will allow speeders to scratch that urge to race along.
The commission just approved the speed limit change...authorized in a 2007 contract.
The 85 MPH will even outdo the top legal speed...84 mph...of Germany's famous Autobahn.
Now...how fast will they cash that check?
