Another court has weighed in on the construction of the Amazon's massive...and controversial...Belo Monte dam.
A regional federal judge ruled that indigena peoples were not properly consulted about the project...and continued work would cost the construction company a $250,000 fine per day.
The judge demanded that indigena peoples be heard before work can resume on the $17 billion project blocking the Xingu river.
The company has the right to appeal the ruling to a higher court.
