After weeks of recent protests by indigena locals...that included a death and hostage taking...President Evo Morales expropriated the Canadian run Malku Khota silver and indium mine...claiming there was no valid contract.
Bolivia also rejected any compensation for the seizure.
Some engineers believe the mine contains $2 billion worth of silver and indium.
Canada and Vancouver's South American Silver dispute the expropriation.
A Canadian subsidiary has managed the mine since 2007.
Indium is a rare metal used in LCD TVs.
