      The volcano Popocatepetl...aka 'El Popo'...lurks over Puebla...just 40 miles/65 kms from Mexico City...and its 19 million residents.
      It recently has begun hurling rocks and ash...a half mile into the sky.
      Officials are taking precautions...telling nearby residents to close windows and avoid outdoor activities.

    A Yellow Level 3 alert has been issued...warning of possible lava eruptions and ash...and a 7-mile perimeter around the volcano has been cleared.
     Popo's last major eruption in 2000....the most violent in 1,200 years...forced 50,000 people to evacuate.
